robyn asked me yesterday if she could take my picture. of course, i obliged. i was needing a new profile pic for my facebook page anyway... ;) so i turned the dial to 'auto' and away she went. they turned out pretty good, miss robyn! what's impressive is the fact that she could lift the thing, let alone get some good shots! my 50D, plus the battery grip PLUS the sweet new glass i got for christmas (thank you, santa! xo!) make for some pretty heavy weight!

yay!!! my new purchase JUST arrived in the mail!!! soooooo excited!!! i'd certainly have LOVED to have bought the 1.2, but hey, can't afford things overnight! the 1.4 is faster, crispier, yummy-bokeh-er... i'm in love. AGAIN. :)))



so excited to shoot with this little number at tomorrow's e-sesh! :))) EEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!



alas, the old 1.8 has shot her last pics for HOLLYHOWEphotography. the 1.8 convinced me of the fact that i'm in LOVE with primes! and what a sweet lens for the price! whoa! i'm so glad that she'll be going to a good home. have fun with her, CM. :) she's done me proud.

ack!!!! has it really been since feb 26th that i last posted on my blog??!?!?! ack!!! i'm losing it!!! i sucketh! ;) so sorry... i DO (finally!) have jonah's full post ready to upload...i'll do that later tonight... and working away on jacob's photos. they're comin', folks. bear with me. march break happened and then josiah & i came down with the flu...

in the meantime... :) while you wait for those... LET'S ALL PETITION CANON TO BRING BACK THIS MIGHTY FINE TRAVEL MUG. :) don't you just think this is FAB?!?!?!?! oh, i soooooo want one but they were a 'LIMITED EDITION' kind of thing. i heard a friend say too, that they gave them away to journalists & photographers at the olympics. well!!! ;) gotta make some for the rest of us, i say!!! ;)

i went to ivan's this week for a filter for my 16-35 f/2.8 (i know! i'm so bad!) and came across this, by gary fong. it's called 'the lightsphere collapsible'. i was like 'whaaaaat is this?!' :) the guy there showed me that it's an easy rig to put on any shoe-mount flash, direct it to the ceiling, and it'll greatly enhance your indoor work. he sold me on 'EASY'. ;)







i don't often use my flash, but in situations when natural light is unavailable or lighting, in general, is less than ideal - i'm so glad i got a diffuser! a DIFFUSER! whoda thunk?! :))) and where i don't have a studio and would prefer more options other than a direct flash (which can be rather harsh) or a 'bounce' flash - this is perfect! i'm excited to play around with it!

...and i got to yesterday! :)

you'd think i'd put joe howe here...but i'm not. this once. :) recently, we invested in an upgrade (the canon 50D) and just this week, we got another 'investment'. :))) eeeeeek!!!!!! so excited for the possibilities!!!!!!

last week, i got to shoot a dear family to me - the joneses! diane called and only had, like an 1 1/2 hr window to get everybody together! ha! and they were so great! thanks, diane & cecil and your boys (whom i grew up with!) and your beautifully GORGEOUS grandchildren!

this past weekend was my first 'official' shoot with my new strap... so comfortable (no more sore neck!) and fun to look at! i absolutely love it!

speaking of shooting... :) i shot the stockford clan up in nackawic on saturday! what a fun, full day! happy 40th, faye & vinal!!! i hope you LOVE your children's present for you! a 'sneak peek' is comin' real soon! :)

oh, and YAY me! i'm on vacation for 2wks!!! WOOOOOOOOO! :)
