5x12 project | november & december AND a merry Christmas!

i know i'm late saying this...  but that's ok, right?!  "peace on earth, goodwill to men" is for everyday, yes?!  ;)

well, from all of us...  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!  we hope your day was filled to the brim with food, family and lots of blessings!

before another.day.goes.by...  let me finish off our (*ahem *cough) 5x12 family project that we had going on.  ;)  i know.  i know.  i was behind more than i was ahead...but there you go.

5x12 project | october

since i'm in the mood for sharing...  ;)  (...and before the calendar turns to december!  ACK!!  i'm so behind!)

here's our 5x12 for october!  after the howe big family portrait (for grammy's much-anticipated calendar) at thanksgiving and between the kids playing and hiding in the leaves, my BIL snapped a pic of the 'Joe Howes'!  ;)  thanks aaron!

going through the photos of family - from both the Howes' side and the Carter's side - makes me so excited for Christmas.  when we're together again.

5x12 project | catching up

ok.  confession time.  i have been so bad at getting our 5x12s taken and posted.  :(

truth is...  july's never happened.  well...i shouldn't say that.  we spent lots of time together as a family.  but there was a lot going on as well.  i was in the thick of wedding season...  joe had to travel quite a bit, so we tagged along on a few trips...  PLUS (and this is big...) july was HOTTTTTTTTTTTT.  and it was tough getting anything done with the kids around and them wanting to go somewhere to cool off (most of the time, the pool at the farm...which we are VERY thankful for).  we spent lots of time together as a family...but never got around to the actual 5x12.

august.  we did better.  i took some portraits of my sister & her family while on vacation up in fredericton...and i got my BIL, stephen, to take a picture for us!  actually, SEVERAL pictures...for which i/we are very thankful!  love ya, steve-oh!  xo!

...and september (because let's face it...it's september 27th...just about that time...)  ;)  our friends, andrew & lisa, invited us out on their boat...and they treated us to a picnic on the beach in cocagne.  what a spectacular day (this past saturday!) so while i was taking some family portraits for them...i got Lisa to snag a few of us.  :D  thank you, lisa!!!!  you did a great job!


anyhoo...  without further ado...  ;)  haha.  who's excited?  ;D

hey all!  it's time for another 5x12...and the best we can do on this crazy, busy sunday is an iPhone shot!  :)  it's still good though...  look at those faces.  ;)

it was a month that included the start of spring, our 14th wedding anniversary and mother's day so i love the fact that we're all so colourful.  (but joe...  you didn't get the memo.  where's your Spider-Man shirt?!)  ;)

yayyyyyyy!!  may's 5x12 is complete!  and not a moment too soon!  GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!  it's almost june 1st which means i shoot my 1st wedding of the 2013 season tomorrow!  woooooohoooooo!

...annnnnnnnnd as always, the 5x12 shoot goes downhill fast.  ;)

welcome to the month of MAY!!  new month...  a new 5x12 of my family!!  :D  ...and some extras thrown in for good measure!  ha!

by the way, haven't we been enjoying some AMAZING weather?!?!?!?!!  love.it.

we attended a funeral this afternoon for a woman in our church. she was young. a teacher, with a husband and a young daughter (about robyn's age). and it really hit home.

life can change in an instant. TELL the people that you love that you love them. SHOW them you love them, too. offer kindness.  don't dwell on negativity.  forgive as the Lord forgave you.

because life is too short.  make every moment count.

just to give you a little bit of background...

George Canyon is a Compassion advocate and he stopped at our church, as part of a maritime tour, for our Good Friday services.  he's an amazing singer/songwriter/musician (came in 2nd on 'Nashville Star'), told some wonderful stories...and it was just so refreshing to hear him talk about his relationship with Christ.

thanks for sharing yourself with us, george!  God bless you for all the great things you're doing in Jesus' name!

ps - funny story...  he'd been standing around for a while, signing autographs and posing for pictures, and we'd been waiting for a bit.  well, i wanted to get a family picture with him (hadn't really thought of using it for the 5x12 series, but anyways...  ha!).  anyhoo...  it's finally our turn and josiah can't be found...  we're looking for him and calling for him...  meanwhile, george is standing there being so gracious...  then josiah's back...  then he's gone again...  and...  well, you get the idea.  then george says, "i wanna do easter at your house."  LOL!!  oh josiah.  you keep us entertained.  ;)

5x12 project | january

phewf.  made it.  just under the wire.  ;)

today is january 31st!!!!  where on earth did this month go?!!!  it seems like just yesterday that we were taking down the tree, moncton was being hammered by snowstorms...  and now it's the last day of january 2013.  can't believe it.

last year, for those of you who don't know, joe & i did a '2x12 project' each month, showcasing US as a couple...  and we loved it.  well, I loved it.  ;)  i love looking back on a year's worth of 'US' photos and remembering what was going on at that time, during that month.  so.....what better 'follow up' project than a whole year's worth of photos of our family of five?!  :)


anyhoo....  here's this month's installment of our 5x12 series!  YAYYYYYY!!!!!  teehee.  poor jacob.  he just wasn't feelin' the flash yesterday.  believe it or not, this one was the BEST of the bunch.  i just couldn't pass up this frame.  LOVE robyn & josiah's expressions!  HA!
